About Javea

Javea is found in the north of Costa Blanca & Javea's also long been called 'Amanecer de Espana', Dawn of Spain. This because it's situated on the most eastern tip of south Spain, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Therefore, every morning the rising sun is seen first here in Javea before setting off to light and warm the rest of the country. Javea has security in its big friend El Montgo. El Montgo stands guard over all in Javea and from certain angles looks like a giant sleeping elephant. In 1987 it's pine forest slopes were decreed a Parque Natural consisting of some 2,150 hectares, making sure that it's beauty would never be lost.

Javea is divided into three main parts, firstly is:

Javea Pueblo (the old town) - Here you can wander down ancient narrow streets, built with original Tosca sandstone and rich in medieval history & has all the characteristics of typical Spanish people & living.

Javea Puerto (the bustling port area) - Still functioning as a fishing port and an inviting place to sit and relax in one of the many open air bars or restaurants located along its lovely promenade

Playa de Arenal (the main beach area) – Beautiful fine, golden sand and clear shallow water make the Arenal a perfect place for all the family. You will find a vast choice of bars and restaurants along the wide promenade offering National and International cuisine. Summer periods the promenade has select numbers of stalls offering a variety of goods including handcrafted gifts, self portraits & jewelry

There are many golf facilities nearby, including La Sella Golf Resort and Club de Golf Javea. Club de Golf Javea can be found on the main road between Javea Old Town and the neighbouring village of Benitachell. The shooting range on La Plana, riding stables, tennis courts, cricket pitch, bowling clubs, ocean dives & snorkling facilities - exist for the pleasure and profit of all. Many local clubs exist and walking in the area is a favourite past-time. But above all, Javea has managed to keep it's identity and never turned into a hollow seasonal place with high-rises full of strangers.
